„Mathematics is the most important language”
Zachęcam do lektury wrześniowego numeru „IB World”, a w nim – wywiadu z profesorem University of Oxford Marcus’em du Sautoy o nauczaniu matematyki i sposobach zmieniania nastawienia uczniów do tego przedmiotu.
Profesor twierdzi, że większość problemów uczniów z matematyką bierze się ze złego sposobu jej uczenia. Apeluje do rodziców o budowanie dobrego nastawienia dzieci do tego przedmiotu: „Parents have an important role to play in making sure children do not develop a negative attitude towards mathematics.” Mówi: „ Mathematics is absolutely everywhere around you. If something has a meaning or is important, it will have mathematics hiding inside it… It is nature’s language and, as such, it is probably the most important language you’ll learn at school.”
